The Chamber of Drama, in collaboration with the 1st EPAL of Drama, successfully organized a three-day educational visit to Drama from September 23 to 25, 2024, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project entitled "Empowering Young Entrepreneurs Towards A Greener Future." The aim of the project is to equip teachers with the necessary skills to professionally guide students in creating environmentally friendly businesses, with an emphasis on circular economy professions, in accordance with the EU climate guidelines for 2030.

In addition to the Chamber of Drama and the 1st EPAL of Drama, the program also involved the IES Vega de Atarfe vocational high school from Granada, Spain, and the Sehit Emre Karaaslan Mesleki Ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi technical high school from Bursa, Turkey, whose representatives traveled to Drama to participate in the educational activities.

The educational visit focused on entrepreneurship that adopts circular economy practices and promotes sustainability through environmentally responsible practices. The President of the Chamber of Drama, Stefanos Georgiadis, welcomed the group of teachers to LAB40, the Chamber’s innovation incubator, which is a member of the national innovation network Elevate Greece and hosted the work of the visit. The thematic scope of the meeting was supported by presentations by the Chamber’s scientific collaborators, Ios Hadjivarytis and Maria Katsikari, who introduced the teachers to the concepts of circularity and green entrepreneurship. In addition, they organized and coordinated an innovative workshop on the design of green business plans, aiming to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

On the second day, the participants were welcomed by the Director of the 1st EPAL, Anastasios Sallis, who gave them a tour of the school premises and introduced them to the career guidance methods that are applied.

This was followed by a visit to the Costa Lazaridi Estate, where participants were informed about the organic wine production method and the precision agriculture practices applied by the estate.

On the third and final day, participants visited the companies Wonder Plant and Menoikio. The aim of the visits was to highlight the circular economy practices in the production process and the utilization of the by-products that result from it.

The educational visit concluded with a guided tour of the Mara cave, while the next meeting was scheduled for early May in Bursa, Turkey.
